Congratulations to Wendy and the Project for being Highly Commended at the inaugural Bucks Archaeological Society ( https://bas1.org.uk/) Prize giving, awarded at the Bucks Local History Network Conference in Aylesbury yesterday. Announced by Sandy Kidd (left), Historic England, and presented by Julian Hunt (right), President of BAS.
The project faced some tough competition, with the prize being awarded jointly, and justly, to Mike Farley for a Lifetime of contribution to Buckinghamshire Archaeology, and Tabitha Barton, Curator of Milton Keynes Museum for the Bancroft Roman Villa mosaic conservation and restoration.
Really great news. Hopefully this will help increase awareness even more about the project, and all the hard work led by Wendy supported by Ed and volunteer in discovering all the exciting new archaeology hidden in the Chiltern landscape.
Congratulations! Thanks Wendy & Ed and the other volunteers, I've had so much enjoyment over the past three years discovering what lies around us, I'd love to do it again.
Thanks for the kind words ( and the pic :-/) I said it that day and I'll say it again - could not do any of this work without all of you lovely volunteers!!
