Find out more about how we “visualise” LiDAR data in order to make the most of this incredibly rich dataset. In its basic form we cannot identify archaeology from the raw elevation data, but by producing specialist visualisations we can increase the visibility of possible archaeological features. As you will see, there is no perfect solution: viewing  a combination of visualisation techniques is necessary to maximise our ability to see archaeological features in LiDAR data.
